September 28, 2026 · Sustina Co-Founder and Editorial Director Nina Unlay has been shortlisted in the Media category of the 2026 Women of the Future Awards Southeast Asia. She joins a group of women from across the region who are spread across 10 countries and 11 sectors, from CEOs and entrepreneurs to authors, athletes, and humanitarian leaders.
As Sustina’s Editorial Director, Unlay leads the organization’s mission to tell the stories of the Philippines through three lenses: climate, culture, and capital. The Philippines ranks as the country with the highest disaster risk in the world, topping the 2026 WorldRiskIndex. For Filipinos, this reality is already shaping daily life, and Sustina’s reporting aims to highlight what the rest of the world can learn from a country under extreme conditions.
“This is an honor I share with the entire team and with every Filipino whose story we have had the privilege to tell,” Unlay said. “We hope that this brings more attention to the Philippines the unique issues that we face.”
Founded by Pinky Lilani in 2006, the Women of the Future Awards give a platform to the next generation of trailblazers in Southeast Asia. The Duchess of Edinburgh serves as the program’s Global Ambassador, and Nikesh Mehta, British High Commissioner to Singapore, chairs the judging panel.
