A newsroom trained in insight and impact.

Where journalists and strategists make sense of sustainability together.

Who We Are

Sustina is a women-led, non-profit impact organization founded in 2025, where journalists, strategists, and technical experts work together. We exist because sustainability is one of the most important conversations of our time, but the least understood.

Both the story and the system need to shift.

Our purpose is to equip Filipinos—and those with the power to shift culture and capital—with the tools and information to navigate the landscape clearly.

Our mission is to become the intelligence hub for sustainability in the Philippines, built on information that is trustworthy, high-integrity, and grounded in context.

Our vision is a sustainable Philippines, where the flow of capital is in alignment with our culture of caring for land and community—rooted in knowledge and practices that came long before us.

Sustina Earth is an impact publication about climate, culture, and capital. We publish stories and insights from the Philippines, where climate stakes are highest. Every story is written as we see it—no branded content, no ads.

Sustina Lab is our strategy arm, helping organizations build capability and designing solutions and systems for measurable and authentic sustainability outcomes. A trusted partner in building impact-first ventures and ecosystems.

With support from the Circular Futures Lab initiative by the British Council and training from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, United Nations, and the World Economic Forum, Circulo was established to promote the circular economy in the Philippines. It has been operating as Sustina’s circular economy-focused arm since 2025.

Our Services

Where Our Funding Comes From

Sustina funds itself through grants and revenue from our sustainability services. These services include sustainability and impact reporting, ESG advisory, and capability-building such as training and workshops.

Our publication is not for sale. Our ecosystem of advisors and partners (disclosed below) have no editorial control: they cannot veto a story, request changes, or influence what we cover.

Our Standards

Code of Ethics

There are organizations that our code of ethics prohibits us from engaging. While we believe that for-profit companies must join the fight for sustainability, we do not service companies whose operations do not align with our mission. Including:

  • Weapons and firearms
  • Tobacco and vaping
  • Fossil fuel extraction
  • Private prisons or detention centers
  • Unsustainable palm oil sourcing
  • GMO seeds

We also screen companies qualitatively based on sensitive or unethical practices. We do not service organizations, even if they score highly in ESG, if they present ethical compromises such as:

  • Human rights violations (e.g., war crimes and genocide, forced labor, child labor)
  • Environmental degradation (e.g., deforestation, heavy pollution, miners with ongoing disputes)
  • Animal testing or cruelty
  • Aggressive tax avoidance or offshore secrecy jurisdictions
  • Union-busting or suppression of labor rights
  • Misinformation, surveillance, or algorithmic harm (tech sector)
  • Political lobbying or influence with unethical objectives
