DOE and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry ink sustainable energy partnership

The agreement takes effect immediately and will last for four years.

The principal coordinating bodies for implementation will be the Philippines’ Energy Policy and Planning Bureau and Japan’s Agency for Natural Resources and Energy.

The Philippine Energy Plan targets increasing renewable electricity from its current 22 percent to 35 percent by 2030 and 50 percent by 2040.
