Sustina wins Climate Culture Journalism grant at Digital Media Awards

Sustina was awarded the Climate Culture Journalism Innovation Grant by climateXchange presented by Syli UK and the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) at the Digital Media Asia Awards in Manila Hotel on April 28, 2026.

The grant supports the development of Sustina’s Circular Solutions Map, an interactive map that integrates the Philippines’ directory of circular solutions onto a living, story-driven platform.

The climateXchange program empowers initiatives on climate news narratives that are technology-forward. It focuses on solutions with “real-life social impact for the climate” that merges the power of tech, media, and storytelling.

“Climate is part of our everyday life, we just don’t stop to connect the dots. Climate Culture Journalism is a movement that enables people to see the connection, to be part of the solution,” said Shereen Daver, Sr. Director Growth and Innovation at Syli.

The First of Its Kind: A Circular Solutions Map

Despite the growing interest among corporations around the Philippines for environmentally-friendly materials, partners, and suppliers, there is a disconnect between the merchants and the market. Circular businesses continue to operate under the radar and within their own communities.

The Circular Solutions Map concept that won Sustina the Climate Culture Journalism grant solves this gap with an interactive map showcasing circular solutions across the Philippines. Hosted on the Sustina website, each pin on the map will be linked to original content produced by Sustina’s editorial team.

The initiative aims to inspire real and measurable change among corporations, resulting in significant sustainable developments across industries and communities.

Powered by Scale360

The map uses data from Scale360, the Philippines’ first circular solutions directory, originally created by Circulo.

Back in 2021, Circulo launched Scale360 with funding from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, supported by World Economic Forum, Global Shapers Cebu, and British Council Circular Futures Lab. Its founder, Carlo Chen-Delantar, was recently named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Class of 2026, and currently sits on Sustina’s board. (Read: Sustina Trustee Carlo Chen-Delantar named World Economic Forum Young Global Leader)

The Circular Solutions Map will launch within 2026.
