October 15, 2025 · Manila Water Foundation (MWF), Manila Water Company’s official corporate social responsibility arm, has announced La Mesa Ecopark’s complete transition to renewable energy in a press release. MWF took charge of operations and management of the public nature park in Quezon City in 2024.
Through close collaboration with Meralco, the energy shift was made possible through the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). The RAP is an initiative that gives multiple electricity end-users the option to combine their demand into a single group for more competitive power sourcing, with the potential to lower costs and switch to renewable energy providers.
This move marks La Mesa Ecopark as the first and largest ecological park to adapt to the Retail Aggregation Program.
