March 25, 2026 · Global Guardians of the SEA is accepting nominations for its 2026 Good Stories Movement, a global campaign that recognizes individuals and groups working to protect the environment.
The campaign is led by world-renowned Filipino environmental lawyer Antonio “Tony” Oposa, whose legal work has shaped environmental jurisprudence in the Philippines for decades.
The Good Stories Movement was previously held under the Normandy Chair for Peace. Its last iteration, held in April 2023 at the Ramon Magsaysay Center in Manila, honored environmental advocates working on environmental law and education, solid waste management, conservation, eco-governance, and road-sharing. Past awardees include human rights activist Edmundo Garcia, former Chief Justice Reynato Puno, and the late environmentalist Gina Lopez. The full list of winners can be viewed here.
Call for 2026 Good Stories Movement entries
The 2026 edition is now open for nominations across five categories: marine, coastal, and freshwater conservation; terrestrial ecology and sustainable living; mobility and emissions; environmental law and eco-governance; and advocacy through art, education, and culture.
Nominated stories will be reviewed and recognized by Global Guardians of the SEA, then amplified to a global audience. Selected entries will be honored at the Good Stories Happy Happening in May 2026.
