Call for 2026 Mga Kwento ng Klima Short Films Entries

Mga Kwento ng Klima 2026 is now open for submissions.

Interested filmmakers are required to submit a pitch for screening. The top 20 teams will receive production support and funding up to ₱30,000. Selected participants will also receive mentorship through The Climate Film Labs, a workshop-type laboratory that equips filmmakers to tell climate science-driven stories.

Following The Climate Film Labs, 10 teams will further be selected based on technical excellence and strong climate storytelling. The top 10 teams will receive an additional grant of ₱80,000 and will be recognized at an award ceremony.

A community screening sub-grant of ₱50,000 will also be given to the top three films to support screenings and engagement activities, extending the impact of the film beyond the screen and encouraging local dialogue and climate action.

Ideas can be drawn from–but are not limited to–themes found in the Oscar M. Lopez Center’s Klimaalam: Step Up and Step In to Act on Climate book.

For more information regarding submission guidelines, themes, and awards, visit their website. Registration for MKK is available here. The deadline for entries is July 15, 2026.
